MALTALINGUA SCHOOL OF ENGLISH
As a part of the Erasmus+ Programme entitled “International Educational Mobility of Students and School Education Staff”, financed by the European Funds for Social Development programme, the school staff acquired language skills in Malta. It was a valuable educational experience. The combination of intensive learning with a daily contact with the language in a natural environment meant that progress was noticeable almost immediately.
Classes were held in international groups, which was a huge advantage. Participants came from different countries, so English was the only means of communication—both during lessons and afterwards. The instructors conducted the classes in a dynamic and engaging way, focusing on communication, overcoming language barriers and the practical use of the language in everyday situations. A major advantage was the variety of methods used—pair work, discussions, simulations of real-life situations and cultural elements. Pronunciation and listening comprehension improved significantly.
Malta itself proved to be an ideal place for learning. As an English-speaking country, it offers the constant exposure to the language—in shops, restaurants and public transport. After classes, participants could explore the island and learn about its history and culture, which also enriched their vocabulary and helped them better understand the linguistic context.
Soon our students will face a new challenge and a unique adventure, that is learning English in sunny Greece combined with discovering the extraordinary culture of this country!
